Happy July!
It was great seeing so many of you at Electrify FC, our s'mores event and for crosswalk painting in June. We are going to have a quiet summer as we gear up for a busy fall with our Leave the Leaves and Welcoming Packet campaigns.
But we do have a few exciting things coming up soon:

Sunday July 21 4-6pm
Come hang out at our summer potluck. This year the theme is nostalgia-- so bring whatever food you enjoyed growing up, something that represents your heritage or anything you just really like! You'll get to try your hand at aerial silks, rolling globe, juggling and slacklining (or just watch!) and meet some fun neighbors. And we'll have even more Falls Church Forward swag ready - we're ordering t-shirts soon! RSVP here.

Help us paint storm drains throughout the city-- starting with four storm drains along South Maple Ave - or the crosswalks at Oak Street Elementary (check out the ones completed at Mt Daniel this week in the pics above)!
Fill out the storm drain form by July 5th at 12pm (kids, adults and kid-adults welcome to apply)

Any neighbors of Oak St, families of current and future Tigers, and anyone who enjoys adding a splash of color to the city are all welcome to help us paint school color-themed crosswalks at various intersections near the school. Date TBD-- sign up for more info here.

After kicking off the Accessory Dwelling (AD) work in May with City Council, check out the city's project page that includes the project and community engagement schedule. Take note that there are two open house sessions at the Library at the end of July where you can learn more and ask questions. As accessory dwellings are not a new housing strategy in the US, there is a lot of good reading out there and lots for Falls Church to learn from - we especially liked this article that talks about results across the country.
Stay cool and see you soon!
