Hello,
It was great seeing so many of you this past weekend!
AARP RECAP
At Sunday's event we started talking about ways to make Falls Church a more age-friendly community. You can access the slides from the presentation here. You can find a summary of some of the breakout-group topics and suggestions we discussed here (if anything is missing feel free to add it).
We are early in the process, but we would hope to turn some of these suggestions into points of advocacy. We will share these ideas with the Falls Church boards and commissions to see how easily (or not!) we can push forward suggestions.
ARTICLES ABOUT FCF
In case you missed it FCF was featured in the News-Press last week, in addition to our commentary about the group!
UPCOMING FALLS CHURCH FORWARD EVENTS
Monday May 29th 1:15PM (earlier for cookout)
Let's celebrate streets that are safe for all ages and abilities!
Join Falls Church Forward and Bike Falls Church in the Memorial Day parade. We'll have a cookout at my place before we line up (my house is about a block away from the start). You must RSVP to join either the cookout or the parade-- sign up HERE
Sunday June 11 4-6pm
Save the date for our next meeting focused on our pillar of supporting community business. Hear firsthand from local business owners about what it takes to open and run a business here, and why they chose the Little City. We'll collaborate on ways to improve policies and processes that enable future businesses to successfully open and operate here (and discover the story behind the most expensive sink in Falls Church
).

This summer we will finally have the lentil party I've been hyping :) (please send your favorite recipes my way) and hopefully a movie screening. Let us know if you have any ideas for speakers or events!
