S'mores celebration, electrify Falls Church, new bike routes, and city art
Hello!
Looking forward to hanging out next week-- it looks like it'll be great s'mores weather! Don't forget to let us know you're coming.

Here are all the great things coming up for the next few weeks of June:

🍫 Solstice S'mores on Friday June 21 5-8pm

Join us for s'mores and socializing next Friday at the Cherry Hill Park pavilion! Catch up with friends, meet new neighbors and celebrate the start of summer. RSVP so we can make sure everyone gets a s'more!
Falls Church City's Ed Henderson will be there to read a passage from his new book "The Grandfather of Black Basketball," which will be available for purchase at the event.

Plus anyone who shows up can get their hands on our brand new stickers!

☀️⚡Electrify Falls Church 2 on Saturday June 22nd 9am-1pm
And then on Saturday you can join us for an open-house event to learn about solar energy, heat pumps, induction cooking, electric vehicles, e-bikes and more from neighbors and experts! There will be even more resources and information and goodies than at last year's showcase, plus free ice cream (just a few blocks from city hall)!
Sign up to volunteer here (or help us post the flyer around town), and most importantly RSVP here!

🚲 Bike Routes & Linking Neighborhoods
Do you know anyone who bikes (or would like to bike) to the secondary school campus? How about on S West or N West st? Come learn about potential paths for better bicycle routes and ensure your voice is heard-- these meetings are critical and will help set the tone as to whether the city moves forward with safe bike routes in the city, so please join:
  • Bike Path to Secondary School Campus Thu 20 June, 6pm @ West End Park
  • N West St Bike Lanes, Tue 25 June, 6pm @ N West St & Highland Ave
  • S West St Bike Lanes, Thu 27 June, 6pm @ S West St & Parker Ave

🎨🖌️ Paint a drain!
Help us paint storm drains throughout the city-- starting with four storm drains along South Maple Ave! All of the storm drain murals will be water themed to help the City keep its Storm Sewer System Permit under The Clean Water Act.
Fill out the form by July 5th at 12pm (kids, adults and kid-adults welcome to apply):

Stay tuned for t-shirts, a circus potluck party (yes, that's correct), a welcoming flyer, our leave the leaves campaign, asphalt art and more! If you're not currently working on any of these projects, and want to help (or have another idea for something to take on) let us know!

See you around!
