Welcome maps, community ambassadors & leaving leaves
Hello,
Welcome to the middle of summer!

While this is technically our “quiet time” we still have a ton going on…🫶 📜Welcome to FCC
Our welcome packet team has finally finished a welcome site and flyer for new neighbors (images below)-- check it out! This is just the first "draft" focused on how to get people involved in the community— we hope to add more sections and features in the coming months. Let us know if you have feedback (and if you’d be willing to compile or help write additional information).

Here's what we need from you:
  • Do you have a suggestion for a place or business where we can leave the flyers?
  • Would you like to join our community ambassadors team? We would connect you with anyone new moving to your neighborhood or building (or stage of life) who needs help getting bearings or has questions about the city!
  • Do you have any feedback on the flyer or the website?

🍂🍁Leave the Leaves
We are gearing up for an exciting (and intensive) Leave the Leaves campaign this fall-- our goal is to get a flyer to every door in the city. We will have more information about it soon (including the flyer, website and yard sign unveiling), so stay tuned for our September update!

💸If you're excited to see the leave the leaves or welcoming campaign, we could use help with printing materials. If you're up to contributing $10 or $20 to help us cover the costs, it would go a long way. If you'd prefer your contribution is only spent on one of the campaigns, just note that in the message.

🎨 Painting crosswalks
Come join in a fun community painting project for the Oak St Elementary crosswalks (think tiger footprints, school colors and more)! If the weather is good, we're planning to paint on 8/10, 8/11, 8/17 from 8-11 am. Anyone can join, no experience necessary-- we just ask that any kids have adult supervision. If you're interested in joining the fun, email Letty.

🅿️ 🚲 City Things
In September City Council will vote on the Bike Master Plan as well as changes to the parking code.
And Accessory Dwelling Unit discussions are getting underway-- keep tabs on updates here.

📚 Fun reads...

Finally, our update wouldn't be complete without some of our favorite articles this month-- enjoy:

See you in September!

PS If you haven't seen it yet, there is another chance to see Pete's film Join or Die in DC-- it's screening at The Avalon Theater next week on Wednesday, August 14th at 8pm!
